Through The Years

Born in Guatemala and arriving in New York City before his 1st birthday, Max Alperstein is excited to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah with you, his family and friends. These are a few of his favorite pictures with some of his favorite people and places. Thanks in advance for celebrating with and writing Max a celebratory message on the site.

Mitzvah Project

For his bar mitzvah project, through UJA’s Give a Mitzvah - Do a Mitzvah program, Max set a goal to raise $8,800 for the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), which is an organization that raises money for many things including immediate disaster relief (including COVID-19) in Guatemala.

Another cause that is important to Max is veterans. His grandpa is a Vietnam veteran and a close family friend was a fighter pilot during World War II. Sadly, Covid-19 caused Max to pause volunteering and visiting World War II veterans at the New Jewish Home in New York City.
